The puppies need something interesting to do when Karen and Patrick are going to be gone all day and aren't able to take Cody and Sequoia with them so Karen devised a biscuit hunt after the example of Patrick's Dad who does something similar for his dogs.
Several big biscuits are broken into smaller pieces and while the dogs wait in the side yard where they can't see, the pieces are hidden all over the fenced back yard where the dogs will be staying for the day in safety and comfort. When Karen gives the command for them to go, they run all over the yard, searching, finding and scarfing down all the bits. The theory is to leave right after releasing them for the search, but Harry and I had great fun watching the search so the purpose was rather defeated this time.
Cody seemed to be winning with the most pieces found
so Judy, feeling sorry for Sequoia,
kinda pointed out where one piece could be found. I think Patrick felt I didn't understand the value of the search in keeping them busy so they wouldn't miss our presence and would have something to occupy their time while we were away.
Found one!
Since the search was nearly over before we left for the day, Karen left them both with a big rawhide bone.
