Saturday Excursion

April 17, 2010

Breakfasted at the Omelette Express in Windsor, then visited the Charles M Schultz - Sonoma Airport. It is presently being renovated and updated so we weren't able to see its former quaintness in it's entirety where the baggage claim was a small hole in the wall. This is the interim baggage claim area. The security section was a mobile building outside next to the gate.

Karen loving up Linus outside the airport:

We took a very scenic drive to Dillon Beach on the Pacific near the Point Reyes Pennisula stopping along the way at an overly stocked craft shop in the country - almost a history of crafts as we know it including macrame, tole painting and loads of wooden craft items. Impossible to describe. The lady had been collecting things for 38 years making it rather a time warp museum for us almost rather than a retail store although we did find some things we 'needed'.

Point Reyes is on the horizon in this photo of huge rocks rather reminiscent of Easter Island monoliths in a way. The wind was blowing quite hard so it was chilly.

Sequoia and Cody enjoying the outing.

Judy and Harry enjoying their 45th Anniversary. After this excursion they celebrated further at night with a delicious Japanese dinner at the Hikuni Restaurant in Santa Rosa.

Approaching Dillon Beach which is also a dog beach and a kite beach and a wave rider beach, etc., etc. Something for everyone. Harry especially enjoyed using the chuck-it to entertain the dogs throwing a tennis ball many, many times. None of the three seemed to tire of the game.
