Sterling Vineyards

April 22, 2010
We visited the unique Sterling Vineyards at the north end of Napa Valley after a scenic drive past many vineyards whose names we recognized. The entrance was very impressive.

A gondola carried us to the top of the mountain where the winery tour and tasting is held.

The winery building is meant to evoke buildings on an island in Greece. Love the white stucco and the shadow patterns in this photo.

Large barrels holding the wine in various stages of development:

The views from the top wine tasting deck:

This view shows a ranch that was purchased through the efforts of the various wineries and private and corporate entities to save it from development, therefore saving the ambiance of the area.
Enjoying the day and the wine.

Last view of the area as we descend in the gondola.
